Nominator's project description

Professor Glass is an international authority in the field of microbial sensing, chemical communication and cell fusion. Using model organisms, she has identified master regulators of sexual communication in fungi. Part of her research is also dedicated to exploring alternative energy production using microbial systems. During her stay in Germany, she intends to further define regulatory networks involved in microbial communication and pathways that have facilitated engineering production organisms for biofuels and specialty chemicals.
